Adam M. Lett practiced law for nearly 30 years in Traverse City and Elk  Rapids, Michigan, before moving to Ann Arbor in 2025 and joining Bassett Murray Law Group.  His practice includes a wide range of topics: elder law, estate planning, probate litigation, guardianships, conservatorships, estate and trust administration, real estate (including land conservation), and Medicaid planning.

Adam earned his JD with honors from DePaul University College of Law after receiving a BS with honors from Michigan State University.  While he is currently active with only the State Bar of Michigan, he was previously admitted to the State Bar of Illinois and the Florida State Bar.  While at DePaul, he was a Dean’s Scholar and scholarship award winner for his duration as a student and won an American Jurisprudence award in Civil Procedure, as well as admission to the Order of the Coif.  He was a member of the Law Review and published an article criticizing corporate greed and municipalities’ efforts to “buy” economic growth, without securing legally binding commitments.

Mr. Lett has always believed that the first step in solving a client’s problem is helping the client understand the problem.  That way, potential solutions can be better tailored to meet that specific client’s needs.  One size rarely fits all.

While practicing “Up North,” Mr. Lett spent 7 years with a small firm, 7 years with a large firm, and 14 years as a sole practitioner.  He served on the Board of Directors for a charitable organization providing homes for disabled clients, an organization preserving land and promoting large-scale land conservation, and an organization dedicated to the preservation of a centennial farmstead and the awesome collection of historical artifacts and relics gathered there.
