Originating from Michigan, Padma Raj is a seasoned attorney with a diverse background in law. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University and has been awarded a Juris Doctor cum laude and Master of Laws in Taxation from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.

Throughout her career, Padma has gained valuable experience in various legal sectors. She has worked as an associate attorney at a well-regarded estate and tax planning firm in Lansing, helping clients craft strategic plans to seize all potential opportunities. Furthermore, she has served at the Michigan Tax Tribunal, where she diligently drafted tax law opinions and orders.

Outside her direct professional roles, Padma is a dedicated public servant. She served in Judge Cynthia Ward's election campaign and volunteered her time as an AmeriCorps member for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

She treats each case with a compassionate, unique approach, acknowledging that every client brings a different and unique set of circumstances to the table. Padma aims to be seen by her clients as a kind, approachable advocate who is always ready to listen and fight for their cause. She wants people to feel a sense of relief when they reach out to her, confident in her ability to provide them with a clear path forward, whatever their difficult situation might be.

Today, Padma is a participant in the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Washtenaw County Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan. She also holds a Probate and Estate Planning Certification from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, a testament to her dedication to her field of choice. Padma now leverages her extensive knowledge and empathetic approach in her new role as an attorney at Bassett Murray Law Group.
