Amanda N. Murray Selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 4th Straight Year

Once again, the peer review organization Super Lawyers® has recognized the talents and dedication of our Managing Partner Amanda Murray and named her to the Super Lawyers Rising Star List. She has been selected for this honor every year since 2020.

“I hope this award helps bring attention to the importance of elder law,” Amanda notes. “Like others in the legal field, we fight to protect those who are vulnerable, but the people we serve are often overlooked. For every member of the aging population that we are able to assist, there are many more who still need help. We as a society need to do better and bringing attention to the problems seniors face is one step toward a solution. Receiving this recognition shows that someone is paying attention, and I’m hoping that will spread.”

Honored by Other Attorneys in the Field

Each year, Super Lawyers ranks the top attorneys who practice in different areas of every state. The process begins with lawyers and other professionals nominating the attorneys in their practice area that they feel provide the best quality representation to clients.

Then the research team at Super Lawyers conducts months of investigation about the careers of the attorneys who are nominated. They review a variety of factors such as:

• Transactions
• Representative Clients
• Experience
• Awards and honors
• Significant verdicts and settlements
• Special licenses andcertifications
• Position within the law firm
• Bar and professional activity
• Pro bono and community service
• Scholarly lectures and writings
• Education and employment background
• Other outstanding achievements

The lawyers receiving the most points from the initial investigation are then subjected to review and ranking by a panel of their peers to choose the top candidates. Super Lawyers has developed a number of safeguards over the years to ensure that attorneys do not “game the system” and bargain to give each other reciprocal positive ratings. Courts and bar associations have praised the selection process for fairness and recognition of high ethical standards.

Rising Stars

Super Lawyers lists high ranking attorneys in two categories. The Rising Stars recognize outstanding attorneys who are either no more than 40 years old or in practice for no more than 10 years. However, the selection process is the same as for the regular Super Lawyers lists. No more than 2.5% of all attorneys in the state are named to the Rising Stars list.

Overall, to be ranked on the Super Lawyers Rising Star list indicates that an attorney has demonstrated significant professional achievement and earned the respect of peers practicing in the same field. “I’m very grateful to my colleagues in the legal field for granting me this recognition,” Amanda says. “It means a great deal to receive this mark of respect not just once but four times.”

Amanda is using this award as an opportunity to rededicate herself to providing the utmost compassion, tireless assistance, and creative solutions for families facing difficult challenges and transitions. “I want to make people’s lives easier,” she explains. “Any day that I can do that is a good day.”
